Hello everyone! After your helpful feedback during the release of 2.5 we've been able to create a hotfix that solves some of the most annoying problems of the previous release (namely, crashes, grenade-related bugs, etc). We've also added some extra eye-candy with better weapon selection icons! This is the detailed changelog of this small update: - M203 range increased 10%
- Prevent "grenades get players stuck" issues.
- Fixes a number of reported crashes.
- Morale-related issues fixed.
- Added 2 new tips to the loading screen (related to spectator menu).
- Al-Kadesiah fire sound has been corrected.
- Weapon selection icons have been upgraded and consolidated.
- M4 Aimpoint opacity corrected for all graphics cards (no more opaque lense).
We would like to thank everyone for the great reception of 2.5. We hope that this update will minimize the stability problems and provide a much more enjoyable experience. As with all Steam updates, your client will automatically update shortly. See you on the servers!

Cool, I like updates. There was something wrong with the Alkad firing sound?

We were very concerned about the performance issues and we've ran a few tests to determine what could be the problem.
We've noticed that, in fact, we've been quite frugal in terms of memory consumption, and our mod takes 50% of the resources of other well-known popular Half-Life 2 mods.
This has been a long road from 1.0, 1.1, so I am afraid we cannot provide a magical performance boost to users of lower spec graphic cards and computers, providing that our game is already optimized to have a reasonably low memory footprint. If you have not upgraded your computers, you will surely have experienced a decrease in the performance from those earlier days with lower resolution textures and less-detailed models.
We'll look into additional ways to provide performance updates in the future, but we also believe that for the maximum enjoyment of this mod, there's no harm in upgrading some of the lower-end components if you have a fairly old computer. A modern (less than 2 years old) graphics card with at least 256 mb. of memory, 2 gigabytes of RAM, and a fairly modern dual core processor should be enough to move this mod very happily.

QUOTE(Mr. Bouncer @ Nov 4 2009, 01:24 AM) I seem to have an issue, i host my servers from gameservers.com and I updated the server files from their update tab. Yet I still get the error "server uses different class tables"
So I was wondering, are the files publicly released on the steam public server? Because I know gameservers.com mentioned something about that to me. They are. We have war server hosted in Holland by this GSP and it is updated. I've never used update option in their panel. I simply restart server and it is automatically downloading update and then starting. It was always updated properly that way. Looks like '-autoupdate' is added by default. Try to restart them (and give some time to update) and if that doesn't start after several minutes, do this again (restart it and wait). Maybe content servers were overloaded and your game servers didn't update. I've checked their FAQ to be sure. According to it, you just need to restart server to update it. If this doesn't work, you should use 'Steam Update' button. Link: http://faq.gameservers.com/index.php?actio...&artlang=en (it's for L4D, so it is also for any other game using Source engine)

Ah but this is the problem I have a fairly recent computer in terms of specs. Apart from my CPU being a bit behind at 2.2ghz I make up with 2Gigs of RAM and a 260GTX. The main problem is the big drop in fps before and after the recent update. I also have a member in my clan which has a MONSTER of a computer, a GTX 290 something (fastest model basically) a 3.4ghz dual core and a ridiculous amount of RAM. Yet he still noticed a big drop of FPS in the recent update. We've also noticed that when there are lots of people on a server let's say more than 16 people for example your FPS starts to drop no matter how fast your computer is. Has anyone else noticed this?
